FrameRate Makes Unprecedented Y2K Trade-In Offer

SALT LAKE CITY — October 18, 1999 — FrameRate Corporation, the leading provider of video messaging systems for public and private cable television operators, announced today an unprecedented offer to trade-in out-of-date and obsolete video messaging systems for the very latest Y2K-compliant technology at a fraction of the cost.

The offer is dubbed the Sweet Y2K Deal. FrameRate is offering a credit of up to $5,000 per channel towards the purchase of a brand-new FrameRate video messaging system. Similar to an offer available to current FrameRate customers, this offer applies to competitive products. This includes obsolete systems made by Scala, TargetVision, Nexus Display Systems, Multi Image Networks, AdTec, Texscan, and others.

Customers trading up will receive a brand-new FrameRate system on a Dell Computer (Nasdaq: DELL) platform running FrameRate's Millennium Information Suite. Computer systems received in trade will be refurbished and donated to local schools.

"We are aware of hundreds of obsolete video messaging systems still operating in the field. At the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, many of these systems will cease to function reliably," said James Harvey, President of FrameRate. "This offer is unprecedented in this industry. If you can trade-in a used car, why not a computer system?"

Those people interested in trading in their obsolete systems should contact FrameRate's toll free number (800) 579-8247 or by E-mail at SweetY2KDeal@framerate.com. In order to qualify, customers must make their purchase during 1999. The customer must provide the original equipment manufacturer's invoice as proof-of-purchase. The trade-in offer expires at the stroke of midnight, December 31, 1999. Other restrictions may apply.

FrameRate Corporation markets a family of multimedia communication solutions. The Millennium Information Suite™ software, along with FrameRate’s Millennium™ and Chameleon™ turn-key systems, are used by commercial cable operators, city & county governments for public, educational, and government access channels (PEG), corporate enterprises, and retail advertisers. Founded in 1993, FrameRate is a private company based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
